Life is long and full of learning. My top strength is input. This means I am always seeking to learn more. This serves me well in my current roles: instructor, guide, and founder.
Good teachers are curators. Currently, I have the privilege of curating the best that AZ Academy's teachers are offering their students.
As the Instructional Guide, I am spreading my school leadership wings. Just as we meet our students where they are, we meet our AZ teachers where they are and work together to move from one level of competency to the next.
Where I'm from.
Rural Nebraska formed the key elements of who I am: hard working, responsible, and grateful.
From Nebraska, I lived and worked in Denver for seven years. Denver holds my heart. However, now the island of St. Croix is encroaching on that real estate.
All three places are grounded in their natural environment. Nebraska's plains, Denver's mountains, and St. Croix's seas. Likewise, each place's people are genuinely concerned with the care of their neighbors. I stand firmly in this tradition of care for my natural world and care for my neighbors.
Serving my community's needs is top priority. Therefore, supporting St. Croix's young families as they navigate new parenthood and its inherent challenges makes perfect sense.
I am continuing to pursue leadership within AZ, a school principal certificate, and, now, founding a preschool.
PlaySTX (Play St. Croix) is a new non-profit preschool located on St. Croix in the U.S.V.I. It will fill the void created by Stone House Preschool closing in June 2017.
